The collections of the Bocskai István Museum aim to create a representative picture of the past and present of Hajdúszoboszló and the Hajdúszoboszló district in an ethnographic, historical, artistic and social context. The museum works to preserve, enhance, and make public the intellectual and material heritage of the small town. Our museum does not belong to the large historical public collections. It was not a higher cultural policy initiative, but rather the value-saving activity of the local high school students and the donations of the population. Its establishment was justified by both respect for tradition and the tourism of the resort. The more than ten thousand pieces are A significant third of the museum material consists of objects, historical documents, and photographs (15 thousand pieces), the other part is a database collection and a library. The most important pieces of historical and historical material are the Bocskai and Hajdú monuments.
