At the beginning of the street you can see the two buildings. Luther House, which was once the pub of the Evangelical Church. The building was built in 1928 based on the work of the architect István Kotsis, and at that time it was considered the most modern pub in the city.
A few steps from the Luther House, on Szent István u. A plaque on the wall of the house at number 8 announces that this was the birthplace of the famous writer and journalist Gyula Krúdy, who was born in Nyíregyház in 1878. Not far from here is the Nyíregyház Evangelical Kossuth Lajos High School, the first high school in the county. It was founded in 1806 by the Evangelical Church and has been a high school since 1861. His students included Gyula Krúdy - writer, János Kabay - chemist and Béla Gádor - writer and journalist.
